Ab Roller Exercises

Getting well-toned hard abs is the ultimate goal of those who would like to be fit and look great. In the quest for the perfect abs, some might spend hours at the gym, while still others might prefer to opt for home gym equipment that would help them reach their fitness goals.

Of the many different types of equipment that is available in the market, Ab Rollers are quite effective in getting perfectly toned abs. The following exercises will help you make use effective use of two of the most common types of Ab Rollers, thereby ensuring that you get the abs you’ve always wanted.

Ab Roller Wheel

The Ab Roller Wheel is a very simple equipment consisting of a small wheel with a handle on either side which work to enable you to hold the wheel while exercising. It targets not just your abs, but works out other muscle groups as well in the process of exercising. Support yourself on your knees and hold the Ab Roller Wheel by its handles, straight out in front of you.

This will help you maintain your balance as well as get the best out of this exercise. Inhale, roll the wheel forward with your arms and legs extending slowly as the wheel goes forward. Remain in this position for 5 seconds and then return to the starting position. Sets of 15 will give you the best results.

An alternate way in which the Ab Roller Wheel can be used is to add a twist to your workout. Support yourself on your knees and hold the Ab Roller Wheel by its handles, straight out in front of you. Inhale, twist your body slightly to the left as you roll the wheel while exhaling.

Remain in this position for 5 seconds and then return to the starting position. Repeat this exercise while twisting your body to the right. Sets of 15 will give you the best results.

Ab Roller With Pro Assist

The Ab Roller With Pro Assist is said to be perfect for the abs as it is designed to allow you to rest your arms and head while working out, thus enabling the primary focus to be on your abs.  Place your legs and arms on the rests of the machine while lying back on the floor.

Keep your legs apart at approximately the width of your hips and position them at an angle of 45 degrees. Inhale. Using both arms, push the Ab Roller With Pro Assist equipment up, while exhaling simultaneously. Hold this position for 5 seconds and return to the starting position. Sets of 15 will give you the best results.
