Cardio exercises have numerous health benefits. They burn fat reserves in your body. They work all major muscle groups in your body, thus increasing their strength and vitality. Over the time with cardio exercises you gain a lean and fit body that has a very less fat percentage and more of lean muscle mass.

They increase our lung capacity. They reduce risk of diabetes, heart attacks, high cholesterol and blood pressure. They have numerous psychological benefits as they help to reduce stress. They promote an overall feeling of well being.

There are many types of cardio activities to choose from. However, the most important thing is to choose an activity that you can commit to. If you do not see yourself doing it every day, then it would be futile to start with it. You will have to work way too hard to get yourself into the mood to do it every day. So pick a type of cardio workout that you enjoy and can easily continue in the future.

You have to make sure that you are raising your heart rate sufficiently. It should get your blood pumping. Otherwise, you will not be successful in burning a lot of calories. So remember this; your cardio routine should get you sufficiently exhausted, therefore you have to put in some effort.

If you are not making much efforts to do your workout, chances are that it might not be benefitting you substantially either. An efficient workout is the one that makes you put in considerable amount of effort.

Moreover, the amount of effort you put in should increase with time. Otherwise, your body will become accustomed to the intensity of the workout.  It won’t get tired and you will not yield any results. So, you will have to progressively increase the time and effort you put into your cardio workout. Make this increase gradual and not very strenuous. This progression is a very important part of your workout regimen.

If you are a beginner, then you will not be able to exercise for a long time. So if you find yourself getting tired too soon, then don’t push yourself too hard and do a cardio session for a lesser amount time. Thereafter increase the time you put in gradually. Everyone should try to get at least thirty minutes of cardio workout and exhaust yourself in these thirty minutes.
