Exercises for the Chest

All men have the craving and desire to build a muscular chest. A muscular chest is powerful. The chest has some large muscles and building mass here can really help them stand out. Having a big chest also helps many men with confidence as they don’t feel left out or weak in a crowd or group of friends.

Exercising the chest can also be very beneficial because the muscles act as a tough protective layer of tissue over the ribs, ultimately giving the heart a better protection. The heart will feel less of a shock in case of being punched in the middle of the chest. Here’s a few chest exercises to augment the muscle mass:

Pushups: the old school home remedy of workouts. This exercise is classed one of the best and most effective for building muscle mass. Not only does it work the chest, it enhances muscles all around the arms, abs, lats and the back. Fold your hands into fists and place them on pillows for less pain. Have them pointing straight down and if you feel confident enough, support your body on your toes.

Slowly bend only your elbows and lower body till your nose is around 3 inches from the floor. For high intensity, hold your body at this position for 3 seconds then slowly pull back up. You can start with 10 pushups each day and gradually work your way up to 50 a day.

Bench Press: the one exercise that provides the most mass for chest muscle. One thing you must be cautious of while doing these to always use a spotter and never attempt to life more weight than you are comfortable with because this will cause damage to the muscles. It will tear the muscles as oppose to ripping them.

Lie flat on a bench with say 5 KG dumbbells in each hand. Fold your elbows at a 45 degree angle with your arms perpendicular to your ribs and parallel to the floor. Slowly push the weights up in the air and lower them back down.

Although there are many other chest exercises, these two are the most common and the most effective ones. You will see good results in just a few weeks.
