Fig Cure For Asthma

Asthma is a chronic respiratory inflammation of the bronchioles. This inflammation leads to constriction of bronchioles, decreasing the width of airway passage.

This in turn interferes with the normal lung functioning decreasing the amount of air being inhaled and exhaled, making it extremely hard for the person to breathe normally.

Being a chronic disease, there is no specific drug or medication that can completely cure asthma. However, it is very much controllable if kept under check.

What Causes Asthma?

There are numerous factors that trigger asthma. These factors differ from one person to the other. Some common allergens are dust, pollen, birds’ feathers, animal dander, perfumes, gases, smoke etc. Frequent bouts of flu leading to phlegm accumulation in the chest are also a huge factor for causing asthma.

Signs Of Asthma:

Tightness in chest, shortness of breath, a wheezing sound, frequent coughs and difficulty in breathing are common symptoms associated with this disease. These symptoms aggravate at night time or when the person performs any type of physical activity.

Depending on the severity of the condition, asthma can be classified as mild, moderate or chronic. Medications are necessary in severe cases. You can easily manage the disease in its initial stages if you protect yourself against the causative factor (by keeping your home dust free, etc.)

Figs For Asthma:

You can also try out numerous home remedies to relieve the problem. Figs are one of the most effective home remedies used for alleviating the condition. These fruits work by draining away the phlegm, preventing accumulation of mucus in the lungs. You can use figs in different forms to get maximum benefits.

1) Fig Tea:

You have probably heard about spice tea, ginger tea or green tea but not many of us have heard about fig tea. As interesting as it may sound, it is extremely easy to prepare too. Collect a handful of figs and wash them thoroughly in normal or cold water. Meanwhile, preheat the oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Next, slice the figs into strips after peeling the skin. Place these strips separately (not one on top of the other) in a baking sheet and place it in the oven for about 15 to 20 minutes. Make sure the fig strips are crispy and completely dry after twenty minutes or so.

If partially wet, heat it for a few more minutes until they are completely dry. Collect these dried figs and grind them to a fine powder. Combine this dried fig powder with tea leaves and make a strong decoction. Prepare tea by using this decoction and drink when hot to expect immediate relief.

2) Consume Figs Directly:

Collect some figs and wash them thoroughly under running tap water. Next soak them in drinking water overnight. The following morning, remove the figs from the cup and consume them on an empty stomach as soon as you wake up.

Figs will hydrate the mucus membranes, preventing them from drying up. Dried mucus membranes are predominantly responsible for triggering asthma. Do not throw away the water used for soaking figs overnight. When figs are soaked in water, numerous water soluble vitamins and minerals get leached into the water.

Throwing this water away will lead to immense loss of nutrients. Drink the water after consuming figs to get immense nutritional and health benefits.Consume figs on a daily basis to experience maximum results.
