Hence, you can try some ancient yoga postures in order to tone and shape the leg muscles. There are several yoga techniques, which are, especially, suitable for slimming down the legs.

Downward Dog Pose

You will have to support on your hands and knees in order perform this exercise. Once you are in this position, you should lift your hips and butt while exhaling and then, straighten the legs and hands. You should stay in this position for 20-30 seconds and repeat the process for 10-15 times.

Forward Bent Asana

Forward bent yoga exercises are very effective for strengthening your leg muscles. You should sit straight and spread your legs in front or at the sides. Then, bend your body and try to touch the toes with your hands. Thus, it will help in stretching the leg muscles and reduce fat effectively. You can also do the same while standing and repeat each set for at least 8-10 times.

Tree Pose

This yoga exercise is done while standing straight and keeping your hands at the sides. Then, raise your left leg upwards and try to touch it with your chest. You should rest the foot of this leg on the knee of the right leg and stay in this position for one minute. You should repeat the same process with your right leg.

Frog Pose

Frog yoga pose can also be used for toning the legs. For this, you should squat on the ground while remaining on your toes. You should also keep your knees open, hands placed on the inner knees and your heels touching each other. Then, you will have to bend your head while keeping your feet flat on the ground and legs straight. You should repeat the process for about 10-15 times.

Chair Yoga Pose

In order to perform the chair yoga pose, you will have to stand straight with your feet joined together and hands at the sides. Now, raise your arms upwards while inhaling and bend your knees forward at 45-degree angle while exhaling. You should stay in this position for 15-20 seconds and repeat the same for 10-15 times.

Mountain Pose

Mountain pose is especially suitable for your thigh muscles. You will have to press the upper thighs inside while spreading the tailbone till the ground and raising the kneecaps. You should keep your hands at the sides and stay in the position for 40-60 seconds.

Leg Stretching Yoga

There are several stretching yoga exercises which can be performed for toning the legs. For this, you should lie on your back on the ground and stretch your legs on different sides and positions.

For example, you can stretch your legs upwards, sideways, bend them till the chest and also perform leg circles. You should practice these exercises only under the proper supervision of a trainer. You should not stretch your legs beyond your capacity as it may cause sprain or injuries.
