While adding exercise to our regular regime, many people start expecting miracles from the same. As a result, when we do not get the expected result, we get disheartened and stop exercising. So, it’s very important for people to understand that one should not aim at short term benefits but should always aim at long term benefits of exercise.

Exercise is any form when continued for longer period has numerous healthy benefits. Therefore, our objective should be to avail long term benefits rather than short term benefits.When we exercise, various systems like circulatory system, respiratory system and muscular movements are involved. This in return, helps the various body organs to perform more efficiently and effectively and benefits the overall body.

As we exercise, demand of oxygen level increases in our body and so we inhale more oxygen and simultaneously exhale more carbon dioxide.By doing so, strength of the respiratory muscles increases.Exercise increases the efficiency of the heart to pump blood more efficiently and thus enable the blood to carry oxygen to brain and other parts of the body more faster .

It increases, the number of capillaries present in the muscles and surrounding the heart and lungs.So, this improves the body ability to carry blood and hence oxygen. Exercises, thus increases the efficiency of gaseous exchange.

As we grow old, we are slowly attacked by various diseases mostly due to weight issues.However; regular long term exercises helps to maintain our optimum weight. This in return helps to avoid diseases like high blood pressure, diabetes, heart diseases etc.Beside this, women after a certain age, generally become the victim of bone related diseases like osteoporosis etc.This too can be minimized by regular exercises.Thus,exercises helps to achieve a healthy life.

Exercises help to boost the mood level as well. This is because, when we exercise, chemical called endorphins is secreted by the brain. Thus regular exercise helps to decrease the stress level and contributes towards a happy, content and satisfied life.

In addition to the physical benefits, regular exercise also helps to improve your memory power. It also reduces the chances of brain related diseases like Alzheimer and dementia.
