Natural Cures For Insomnia

Insomnia is a sleep disorder and the person who suffers from it is unable to sleep properly at night. People who suffer from it keep themselves lying in bed, whole night but can’t get sleep. It affects you physically and mentally a lot because next morning you don’t look fresh. You become irritated on silly matters and your performance in your works decreases. Before going to doctor, try to get rid of insomnia naturally. There are many natural cures for insomnia.

Eat foods which make you sleepy. Milk contains tryptophan which stimulates melatonin to flow to the brain and makes you sleepy. Therefore to get good sleep you should drink milk before sleep. Iron and magnesium too cause you sleepy. Consumption of Almonds, dark green leafy vegetables is good for better sleep and gets rid of insomnia.

Apart from milk, nuts, dates, tuna, potatoes, eggs stimulate a hormone called serotonin which relaxes your nerves and muscles and gives you good sleep. Therefore eat these protein rich foods 1 or 2 hours before sleep. Avoid tea before sleep. It will deprive you from sleep and keep you awake for hours. Instead of regular tea, take Chamomile tea because it brings about sleep. This tea is know as anxiety reliever and also relaxes your muscles which give you good sleep.

Ensure that your bedroom is only for sleep or your sexual activities, if you are a married person. You should keep your computers, televisions and telephone-cell phones out of your bedroom. Watching television before sleep is not recommended. Also ring bells of telephones or cell phones disrupt your sleep.

Avoid worry & stress. You can’t change the world when you are going to sleep. If there is any problem which is causing you worries, then postpone solving it, next morning. If you have any health problem, let your doctor worry about it; if you have any financial problem, let your guardians or elders or other members worry about it. You just think about your sleep; i.e. how to get good sleep. In everyone’s life some good things happen and some bad things also take place. At the time of sleep, recall good incidents only.

Exercise during daytime and meditation & breathing at the time of sleep to bring you good sleep and solve your insomnia problem. You can also listen to soft music or read any book to bring sleep.
