Skipping can be done with or without shoes. The only important thing is that you have to make sure that you land on your feet. Skipping can be made easy or difficult depending on the person. The easier form of skipping is to use alternate legs through the rope each time. This is slower, and better for children and beginners. If you are on the heavier side, it may be better to start with this.

You can also do double jumps across the rope each time. This is much faster, and can be done only once you have practiced for a while. It is not very difficult, but is better than regular skipping.

The most effective skipping is the single jump skip. This requires more power and speed. It can also help you lose weight faster. This can be done forward or backward, and can also be done by crossing the arms when skipping.

Lots of other variations are possible with the skipping rope. Children should be encouraged to learn how to skip using a jump rope. It can help them increase their height. They can make it more fun by doing it with a friend where both jump together over the rope.

Skipping increases the shoulder strength as you are constantly moving the arms with the rope.
